This edition was prepared for the Super Toys designer toy exhibition (July 12 – September 30, 2024, Arts Square Gallery).

Designer toys represent a young and vibrant field of contemporary art, blending elements of pop art and street art. In Russia, this art form has experienced two waves of popularity: in the early 2000s and in the present day.
The Super Toys exhibition brought together artists from the new wave of Russian designer toy development and positioned them within the global context of the genre, featuring works by masters such as KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Frank Kozik, and Michael Lau. These pieces are part of the Riki Toys collection owned by media executive Ilya Popov, one of the pioneers behind "Smeshariki" and other successful animated franchises.
The exhibition catalog extends the educational mission of the event, offering not only an analysis of works by global artists but also giving a voice to Russian creators. This allows readers to fully immerse themselves in this emerging wave, observing firsthand how this art form evolves and adapts within the Russian context.

Art toys represent a vibrant trend in contemporary art. Curators have brought together Russian artists who work with designer toys on a single platform. Zak Mini Monster, Evgeny Ches, Danil Yad, and many others will showcase their figurines, accompanied by pieces from the Riki Toys collection, which provides context for the development of this art direction.

The Riki Toys collection belongs to Ilya Popov, co-creator of KikoRiki, founder of the Riki Group, and the R.Toys platform. The collection features works by iconic artists, including KAWS, known for his character "Companion," inspired by Mickey Mouse. Many consider Companion an icon of our time.

Many Russian artists, like international pioneers in the art toys field, also work in street art. At the SUPER TOYS exhibition at Arts Square Gallery, artists will not only display their works but will create new pieces specifically for the show.

In addition, the latest toy releases, collected by the TOYiARTi showroom, will be on display at the exhibition. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase certain pieces and start their own collections.
